Restaurant · Jumeirah
Yava has grown into a restaurant with a much clearer Palestinian voice. At Wasl 51, Basil Yassin draws on food from home, from musakhan tucked into a pretzel to slow-cooked lamb maqloubeh served with rice and eggplant. There's a warm courtyard for cooler evenings and enough sharing dishes to make this a proper tableful.

What to expect
“Start with the musakhan pretzel, then share Tante Nora's tabbouleh and the lamb maqloubeh. The main arrives under a tagine lid with a slow-cooked shank, so leave enough room for it.”

Popular dishes
“Ask for a courtyard table among Wasl 51's orange trees when the weather allows. More than one current food guide puts the restaurant at 8am–11.30pm daily; call before visiting near closing time.”
