Where to Eat in and Around Dubai Hills

From Michelin Bib Gourmands and leisurely breakfasts to Chinese date nights and steaks built for sharing, these are the yapped-listed restaurants we would book first.

Dubai Hills has become dangerously good at turning one plan into several.

You arrive for coffee. Somebody suggests lunch. Drinks appear. Suddenly it is 9pm and the car has spent longer in Dubai Hills than you have.

The area now has Michelin-recognised restaurants, neighbourhood cafés and enough variety to cover breakfast, lunch and a dinner nobody remembered to book. Two of our picks sit nearby at Vida Emirates Hills, so consider this your guide to Dubai Hills and its immediate orbit.

Here's where we would start.

DUO Gastrobar

Dubai Hills Business Park · Best overall

If we had one reservation to make, it would be DUO.

The cooking combines European and Mediterranean ideas with subtle Asian influences, but dinner never feels like a geography lesson. Expect confident sauces, excellent pasta and dishes made for passing around the table.

DUO opens at 9am daily, so it works for breakfast, lunch and the spontaneous dinner that starts with “shall we just get one thing?”. Both Dubai branches hold Michelin Bib Gourmands, recognising good cooking at good value. The Hills terrace is particularly useful once outdoor weather returns.

REIF Japanese Kushiyaki

Dubai Hills Business Park · Best lunch

REIF is the answer when lunch needs more ambition than another desk salad.

Chef Reif Othman’s Dubai Hills restaurant serves modern Japanese cooking without unnecessary ceremony. Build the table around kushiyaki, add a few larger plates and let everybody negotiate the final skewer.

The weekday Teishoku lunch currently costs AED130 for two courses, with dessert and tea or coffee available for another AED20. Weekend breakfast runs from 10am to 3pm, while weekday service begins at noon. The restaurant is also fully licensed.

Moli by SHI

Dubai Hills Business Park · Best date night

Moli is where you book when dinner needs good lighting and at least one dramatic plate arriving in the middle of the table.

The restaurant serves contemporary Chinese food in an elaborate dining room that comes into its own after dark. Go with somebody willing to share, order across the menu and avoid wasting twenty minutes pretending you only want one dim sum dish.

Moli opens daily at noon and stays open until 1am from Sunday to Thursday, then 2am on Friday and Saturday. There is also a weekday business lunch, Friday evening brunch, Tuesday ladies’ night and happy hour from Monday to Friday.

“Dubai Hills is no longer somewhere you happen to eat. The restaurants are becoming the reason to go.”

Hillhouse Brasserie

Dubai Hills Golf Club · Best breakfast

Hillhouse is responsible for many innocent coffees becoming full afternoons.

Breakfast starts at 6.30am, with views across Dubai Hills Golf Club and enough distance from the city’s louder brunches to make the weekend feel properly slower.

The restaurant moves easily from eggs and coffee into lunch, steak and drinks. Its roast is now served on both Saturday and Sunday from noon, with chicken, beef and vegan options currently starting from AED125.

Come for breakfast. Stay until somebody orders something that requires cutlery.

Duo Gastrobar

Hunter & Barrel

Vida Emirates Hills · Best group dinner

Some dinners need individual plates. Hunter & Barrel is not one of them.

This is the place for coal-roasted meat, serious steaks, smoky skewers and enough sides to make the table structurally complicated. Bring a group, choose a cut to share and appoint somebody trustworthy to divide it.

The restaurant is at Vida Emirates Hills, a short drive from Dubai Hills rather than inside the estate itself. It is licensed, and its daily 3 O’Clock Beverage Club runs from 3pm to 7pm with savings of up to 35 per cent on selected drinks.

Isabella Cucina Italiana

Vida Emirates Hills · Best Italian

Isabella does the useful kind of Italian restaurant.

It has handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza made with 48-hour fermented dough and a dedicated Negroni Bar upstairs. That covers family lunch, date night and the drink you definitely did not plan to order afterwards.

The weekday business lunch costs AED89 for two courses, with dessert available for another AED29. Isabella opens daily from noon until 1am.

One location note: it sits at Vida Emirates Hills, not Dubai Hills. Close enough to include in the plan. Not close enough to blame us if you enter the wrong destination.

Tania’s

Dubai Hills Business Park · Best catch-up

Tania’s is very good at making a quick meeting feel wildly optimistic.

The flagship opens from 8am to 11pm, with all-day breakfast, tea, colourful drinks and dietary-friendly dishes. Come for coffee, then accept that everybody has already opened the lunch menu.

Weekday business lunch costs AED75 with a non-alcoholic drink or AED95 with an alcoholic drink. Happy hour runs Monday to Friday from 4pm to 11pm, offering 50 per cent off selected drinks. That is quite a long happy hour. Nobody appears upset about it.

The Barnyard

Dubai Hills Business Park · Best work café

The Barnyard is for mornings when breakfast, coffee and answering emails need to happen at the same table.

The menu leans towards wholesome food without making lunch feel like a punishment. It opens daily from 8am to 10pm, so there is no need to sprint through the morning menu.

Outdoor seating is dog-friendly, making this a useful stop after a walk around Dubai Hills. Bring the laptop if you need to. Bring the dog if you would rather pretend you do not.
