Four Dubai Matcha Stops to Try Now

The plain latte has competition. These yapped-listed cafés are shaking matcha with strawberry, mango, coconut and the occasional espresso shot.

Dubai took a perfectly respectable cup of green tea and added fruit purée, coconut foam and a camera-ready glass.

Matcha is no longer the alternative hiding beneath coffee on the menu. It now gets strawberry layers, mango blends, frozen versions and espresso-spiked dirty matcha.

Some are careful and tea-led. Others are sweet, bright and barely pretending to be tea.

Both have their place.

These four cafés are live on yapped with matcha menus we could verify. Most are walk-in, so nobody needs to organise a reservation for one green drink.

For the Full Matcha Spectrum: The Matcha Tokyo

The Beach, JBR

Start sensible. Get adventurous later.

Matcha is not a side project here. It is the entire point.

Purists can start with the hot or iced Matcha Japan Premium. Newcomers should try the latte, which softens organic matcha with milk and Japanese brown sugar without making the tea disappear completely.

Then things get colourful.

The menu mixes matcha with strawberry, blueberry, passion fruit, dark chocolate and coconut water. Frozen versions bring banana, mango, taro and even açaí into the situation.

Order the premium pour if you want to taste the matcha properly. Return for the Matcha Strawberry or Matcha Coconut Water once restraint has done its job.

For Matcha and a Proper Café Stop: Boston Lane

The Courtyard · Al Quoz

When the drink needs breakfast.

Boston Lane gives matcha the full Al Quoz treatment: pretty glassware, natural light and enough food to turn one drink into lunch.

The classic Matcha Latte costs AED30. Mango, strawberry and cloud-topped versions cost around AED35, including the Coconut Matcha Cloud with creamy coconut.

That is our order. It is interesting enough to tempt you away from the usual without becoming a liquid dessert in a wellness costume.

With breakfast, toasties and lunch on the menu, Boston Lane is the list’s best all-rounder. Go when matcha is part of the plan, not the entire personality.

Order this: Coconut Matcha Cloud, AED 35
Keep it classic: Matcha Latte, AED 30

“Matcha used to be the alternative to coffee. Now it needs its own decision tree.”

For Something Sweet: Arto Coffee

Dubai Mall

Fruit first. Grassy notes later.

Arto is the easy entry point for anyone who thinks traditional matcha tastes suspiciously like a lawn.

The classic Matcha Latte costs AED 35, but the fruit versions are more fun. Matcha & Mango layers mango purée, milk and matcha, while the Matcha Kiss Strawberry does the same with strawberry. Both cost AED 39.

There is also a Blue Matcha for AED 35. It is typically made with butterfly pea rather than green-tea matcha, so order it for the colour, not a serious tea comparison.

Find Arto on Dubai Mall’s second floor near Fashion Parking P7. Ideal when shopping has gone on too long and coffee feels predictable.

Order this: Matcha Kiss Strawberry, AED 39
Best for: A sweet mid-shopping stop

For a Slower Al Quoz Afternoon: KAVE

Alserkal Avenue · Al Quoz

Matcha with something happening around it.

KAVE is part café, part community space and part reminder that you were definitely going to try pottery this year.

The matcha menu stays simple. An Iced Matcha Latte costs AED 34, as does the Iced Hojicha Latte.

Hojicha is roasted Japanese green tea, giving it a toastier, nuttier flavour with less of matcha’s grassy edge. Try it if you like the ritual more than the actual taste.

Come for the iced matcha, then stay for Alserkal’s galleries, workshops and shops. This is the least grab-and-go stop on the list. That is exactly the point.

Order this: Iced Matcha Latte, AED 34

What About Dirty Matcha?

Dirty matcha adds espresso to matcha and milk. It is stronger, more bitter and ideal when choosing between tea and coffee feels like one decision too many.

You will spot it alongside cloud matcha and fruit-layered drinks on more Dubai menus, but not every café above officially serves one. Ask before creating work for the barista.

Try proper matcha first. Add espresso next time if calm, focused energy is no longer doing the job.
