Dubai Parks and Resorts finally has a reopening date. Woohoo!

After six months away, DPR returns on Wednesday 7 October 2026, just in time for the school break and Dubai remembering that outside is pleasant again.

Back for the new season: Motiongate Dubai, Real Madrid World, Legoland Dubai Resort and The World of Riverland. Riverland also gets bowling and Lamborghini racing simulators, providing two fresh ways for families to become unnecessarily competitive.

Which Park Should You Choose?

Motiongate Dubai

Best for: Movie fans and mixed-age groups

Motiongate returns with 29 rides and attractions inspired by DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures and Lionsgate.

Think Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, The Smurfs and enough movie-themed rides to reveal who has been lying about liking rollercoasters.

The best all-rounder for mixed ages, with character encounters, family attractions and faster rides. Nobody gets stuck holding the bags all day.

Real Madrid World

Best for: Football fans and older children

Real Madrid World is back with football-themed rides, games and interactive challenges.

Ride the Hala Madrid Coaster, brave the 140-metre Stars Flyer or explore the club’s history inside the Bernabéu Experience. The football challenges finally reveal whether all that sideline advice was useful.

Not a Real Madrid fan? Your merchandise budget may thank you.

“Cancel the backup mall plan. The rollercoasters are coming back.”

Legoland Dubai Resort

Best for: Younger children and Halloween fans

Legoland remains the easy win for younger families, with more than 40 rides and attractions. Legoland Water Park adds another 20-plus slides and water experiences.

It reopens on 7 October, just as Halloween begins. Expect rides, a candy trail, crafts and several rounds of costume negotiation, all included with admission until 2 November.

What Is New at Riverland?

Riverland is adding two headline attractions: a bowling centre and the Automobili Lamborghini Racing Simulator Center.

Race a digital Lamborghini around famous circuits, then argue about bowling scores the traditional way.

There is also go-karting, archery, axe throwing, target shooting, mini golf, cycling and puzzle games. Younger children get Neon Galaxy, a multilevel indoor playground filled with slides, obstacles and glow-in-the-dark chaos.

Entry is AED25, but activities cost extra. Do not assume that buys unlimited axe throwing. Society has rules.

Why Was It Closed for So Long?

The parks have been closed since March. What happened during those six months remains vague, but the 7 October reopening, returning destinations and Riverland’s new attractions are confirmed.

Hours, rides and ticket options vary. Check the booking calendar before promising anyone a specific attraction, especially if Legoland Water Park is the deal-breaker.

Can You Stay Overnight?

Yes, especially if you are visiting more than one park.

Lapita Dubai Parks and Resorts reopened on 21 September, joining Legoland Hotel, Rove at the Park and the dinosaur-themed T-Rex Glamping.

Stick to one park per day. Trying to conquer the entire destination before dinner is how family days become endurance events.

Six months is a long time to wait for a rollercoaster. The opening-week queue may feel equally committed.
