The hardest part of ladies’ night is rarely choosing a drink.
It is persuading six people with different locations, budgets and bedtimes to agree on the same venue. Somebody wants dinner. Somebody wants a beach. Somebody has already suggested somewhere that closed two years ago.
We have narrowed it down to three yapped-listed options, each covering a different night and level of commitment.
Wednesday: Bubbles & Banter at The Bolt Hole
Villanova · AED125 · Best value
Start at The Bolt Hole if the group chat appreciates straightforward maths.
Bubbles & Banter runs every Wednesday from 6pm to 10pm, with four dishes and four drinks for AED125. The food selection includes the likes of sliders, tuna tartare, chicken wings, butter chicken spring rolls and mini fish and chips, while drinks cover selected cocktails, bubbles, grape and spirits.
Four dishes and four drinks for AED125 is the sort of offer that sounds as though somebody has forgotten to carry a number. Nobody correct them.
The Bolt Hole has more neighbourhood-pub energy than dress-up destination drama, making this the one for an easy midweek catch-up.
“Wednesday is for value. Thursday is for dinner. Friday has a sunbed and no interest in your afternoon productivity.”
Thursday: Ladies’ Night at Ula
Palm Jumeirah · AED225 · Best for dinner
Ula is for when everyone wants a proper meal but nobody is prepared to sacrifice the cocktails.
The Thursday package includes two courses and three drinks for AED225, served from 6pm to 11pm. The menu moves through Mediterranean-inspired starters, mains and desserts, with options including feta saganaki, sea bass, striploin and Greek orange cake.
The beachfront setting does plenty of the work. Arrive before sunset, order the first drink outside and accept that the “quick Thursday dinner” has already become the start of the weekend.
Ula sits at Dukes The Palm, so factor in Palm traffic before announcing an optimistic arrival time.
Friday: Ladies’ Day at The 305
Palm West Beach · From AED175 · Best all-day plan
The 305 has looked at the concept of ladies’ night and moved it to 9am.
Every Friday, AED175 gets you restaurant seating, five drinks, one South Florida-inspired dish and pool and beach access. Pay AED200 for the same package with a poolside sunbed.
Sunbeds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Cabanas and daybeds can be reserved for an additional charge, which may be worth considering if your group’s definition of “early” is noon.
The offer runs from 9am onwards, and The 305 stays open until midnight on Fridays. Nobody is suggesting you remain for all 15 hours. Nobody is stopping you either.
Pool and poolside sunbed use is restricted to guests aged 18 and over, while alcoholic packages require guests to be at least 21. The 305 Ladies’ Day
So, Which One Are We Booking?
The offers are different. The rule is the same: agree on the date before somebody introduces a fourth option.
