Ladies Night at Son of a Fish: Harbour Views, Free-Flow Spritzes and ABBA on Repeat
We went to find out if the ladies night lives up to the views.

Son of a Fish sits at Dubai Harbour's Pier Club, right on the water. It is a Greek-inspired venue with gorgeous interiors, a central bar, and tables spilling out onto a terrace overlooking the marina. Right now, in peak summer, the glass coverings stay closed so you get wall-to-wall windows across the harbour. In winter, they remove them entirely. We can only imagine how stunning that terrace will be when the weather cools down.
The Package
The ladies night runs every Wednesday from 7pm to 11pm. It is AED 210 per person for a two-hour package. That gets you a choice of two small plates, one dessert, unlimited Greek feta fries, and two hours of free-flowing drinks including cocktails, wine, spirits, and beer. Your two hours start from when you sit down, not from a fixed clock.
The Food
We were a table of three and mixed our small plates so everyone got a taste.
Chicken Souvlaki (we ordered two of these). Char-grilled chicken skewers with fresh pita and tzatziki. Juicy, full of flavour, and exactly what you want from a souvlaki.
Prawn Saganaki. Pan-seared prawns with cherry tomatoes, garlic, rosemary, and feta. Plump, juicy, and properly garlicky. There was a generous amount of prawns in the dish.
Tyrokafteri (Whipped Feta with Roasted Red Pepper). Really creamy, really delicious. This was a standout. Served with fresh pita.
Zucchini Tiganito. Fried zucchini with tzatziki. Crispy without tasting greasy. Not the most explosive flavour on the table, but a solid, satisfying plate.
Santorini Salad. Marinated tomatoes with anthotyro cheese, peppers, capers, and olives. Really fresh, really tasty. A lighter Greek salad done right.
And then there’s the fries. The table gets unlimited French fries with feta crumbled over the top and a dusting of oregano. They come in little buckets, hand-cut, and they keep refreshing them. We went through three rounds, oops. Dangerously good.
Here is the thing about the small plates. They’re not that small. For three of us, there was more than enough food. Come hungry.
The Drinks
The two-hour package is free-flow on cocktails, wine, spirits, and beer. We went with Aperol spritzes because, why not, and they arrived in gigantic wine glasses. Perfect measures, really delicious, and the servers kept them topped up regularly. We never had an empty glass.
Our server was also sharp on timing. She knew our package would end at 9.20 and came around with a heads up for last orders. That kind of attention matters.
Desserts
We ordered one of each dessert to share.
Portokalopita. An orange filo cake with fresh figs and fig leaf ice cream. This was the main hit. The ice cream was the star of the whole dessert round. Creamy, aromatic, and genuinely memorable.
Chocolate Mousse Millefeuille. Spiced filo with yuzu olive oil, sea salt, and orange zest. Rich and indulgent.
Frozen Greek Yoghurt. Served with fried walnuts and thyme honey. Clean, refreshing, and the perfect palate cleanser after everything else.
The Vibe
Plenty of fabulous ABBA blasting out, all Mamma Mia energy. At one point we were all up dancing and swinging napkins around our heads.
The staff were super attentive from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Maybe a touch too attentive at times, but it was a new night and everyone was on it. That energy is better than the alternative.
The Practical Stuff
You can arrive at 7pm on the dot or show up later. The two-hour package starts from when you sit down, so you are not penalised for being fashionably late.
Valet parking is AED 40, with an extra AED 10 per hour if you stay longer than three hours.
The Verdict
This is a really, really good ladies night. The location is gorgeous, the food is generous, the drinks flow freely, and the vibe is exactly what a Wednesday night should be. It is also an amazing place to take people who are visiting Dubai. You get the harbour views, the Greek island energy, and a night that feels like a mini holiday.
Excited to try other evenings at Son of a Fish.
