Dubai’s restaurants are back from summer, and several have had work done. New rooms, new menus, even new addresses. Apparently, nobody spent the break relaxing.
Familiar names are taking bookings again, but your usual table might now be on a different floor.
Scalini Has Had a Reset
Scalini is back at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, and the renovation extends beyond buying a few cushions.
Its familiar blue and yellow remains, joined by ivory, navy, striped fabrics and warm timber. The veranda gets citrus trees, a white pergola and Sicilian-inspired tiles. Lunch could comfortably become your afternoon.
Executive Chef Francesco Cortorillo has refreshed the menu too, adding Sicilian red prawn crudo, tableside beef tartare and linguine alla Nerano with fried courgette and Provolone del Monaco. Start there. The new cushions can wait.
Andaliman Has Moved Up
Andaliman has traded its poolside spot for Level 24 of The Link at One&Only One Za’abeel. A fairly literal upgrade.
Roughly 100 metres above Dubai, the Indonesian restaurant returns with Chef de Cuisine Ismawan Dzabir’s beef rendang and seafood grilled over coconut-husk charcoal.
New to the table: a sambal trolley, letting you choose your chilli paste and heat level. Order for the spice tolerance you have, not the one you announced to the table.
“It’s back to school, Dubai F&B edition.”
Tattu Has Cleared Its Diary
Tattu Dubai is back on Levels 74 and 81 of Ciel Dubai Marina, with more excuses to take the lift.
The suspended cherry blossom tree, Black Dragon dining room and White Dragon Sunset Bar return, while Tattu Sky Lounge & Terrace supplies the sweeping Marina and Palm views.
A new weekday business lunch and daily sunset offering expand the options. Afternoon tea, brunches and DJ sessions are expected later this year.
Your “just one drink” plan now has several opportunities to become something else.
Hakkasan Is Back
Hakkasan Dubai reopened at Atlantis The Palm on 23 September after its summer closure.
The Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant has brought back its signature dim sum, meat and seafood dishes, alongside a new drinks menu. Executive Chef Andy Toh remains at the helm.
Tapasake Is Making Us Wait
Tapasake is having a serious glow-up at The Link, One&Only One Za’abeel.
The Japanese-Mediterranean restaurant is returning with its infinity pool, a new Sky Lounge and a menu designed for sharing. The room, meanwhile, is designed for people who enjoy being seen arriving.
There is still no reopening date, so file this under coming soon rather than clearing your weekend just yet.
